What is ELCT and how did you get started?

English Language Communication Training is the company I started in 2008 to provide communication training and workshops in Germany. My name is Alisa Kasle-Henke. I am a communication trainer and English language teacher with over 20 years of training experience. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri (USA), I received my Bachelor's Degree in German Studies and Political Science from the University of Vermont in 1992, with a one-year exchange to the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany. After graduation I taught for a year in schools in Vienna, Austria, before moving to Germany permanently in 1993. I worked on a Master's Degree at the University of Paderborn and received it in three subjects: American Studies, German Literature and Social Sciences in 1998. Since 1993 I have worked at the University of Paderborn, the Humboldt-University, Berlin, the Technical University in Berlin, the University of Augsburg, and the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg. Since 1994, I have also trained managers, employees, trainees, and students in companies and institutions in many parts of Europe, including France, Austria, Germany, and England. Recently I have offered numerous workshops in schools in Bavaria for 11th graders as a part of their seminar program. Since 2009 I have been a lecturer at the Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication (ZSI) at the University of Applied Sciences, Augsburg. I am a permanent member of the academic staff there, but only pursue this part-time, so I can still run ELCT and provide training in companies and schools.
